How to create a Fuel Source for Fire Pit
Gel Fuel Fireplaces are an inexpensive investment which is portable and budget-friendly. You can open the can of Gel Fuel and simply place it wherever you want. Then light the gel with a barbecue lighter or a long matchstick. The fuel will burn for about three to four hours. And you can easily extinguish the fire by putting the lid back onto the can.
How do you make a simple fire pit?
- Spot the location - Decide where you want your fire pit to be. Keep it away from combustible materials such as trees, air conditioner units, windows, and etc. Once you spot the area, mark a circle depending on the size of the fire pit you want. Color that circle with a spray paint.
- Dig the Foundation - Use your shovel to dig at least 2-inches deep into the soil.
- Gravel the Dug Out Area - Shovel the gravel into a garden cart and empty it into the dug out area. Tamp it down to make it smooth and even.
- Arrange Wall Blocks - Arrange 18 wall blocks around the center to create the first tier for the fire pit.
- Set the Second Tier - Arrange the Second Tier of Wall Blocks over the First tier. Glue up the wall blocks using a landscape adhesive.
- Set up the third and fourth Tier - Similarly Set up the Third and Fourth Tier.
- Insert the ring - Insert the ring and let the fire pit cure for 7-8 days before using the fire pit.
