Are you tired of those stubborn fats you can’t get rid of despite all your time dedicated to working out and preparing healthy meals? It is indeed true that without consistency and effort, you won’t see toned muscles and zero fat. But you’ll be surprised to know that there is a popular treatment for reducing fat, which everyone is raving about, and that is fat freezing. So here’s everything you need to know if you are interested in undergoing this treatment:
Cryolipolysis
Cryolipolysis is another term for fat freezing, and it is a fat reduction process that doesn’t require you to undergo any surgery. It uses very low temperatures to reduce fat deposits, or what you call those stubborn fats, in some parts of the body.
You’ve probably experienced getting frustrated about eliminating fats at your body parts such as your love handles, muffin top, double chin, and brassiere rolls, etc. But fortunately, cryolipolysis is designed to remove those stubborn fats in hard-to-reach areas like the upper arms, lower abdomen, upper and lower back, hips, beneath the chin, and underneath the butt.
Fat Freezing Procedure
When you set an appointment for the treatment, the first step the doctor does is outlining the areas that need to be assessed and treated using a skin-marking pencil.
Next, they will use an applicator to freeze the fat cell layer in your body underneath the skin. In this step, the doctor applies a gel pad to your skin to protect it. The applicator has an opening that acts as a vacuum to suction the fatty bulges in your body. You will feel this process because you’ll stay awake during the entire procedure.
During the first five to ten minutes, you’ll feel some sensations like aching, tingling, cramping, and stinging, but they’ll start to decrease as your body becomes numb because of the cooling process. Meanwhile, the target temperature for the fat layer is between negative one to four degrees Celsius.
The whole process takes about one hour, meaning the applicator stays on your skin for the entire time. After that, it is removed, and the area is massaged for about two to three minutes.
Does It Work?
Fat cells are prone to damage and break down when exposed to a very cold temperature. Thus, the target temperature strikes the fat cells and eventually kills them.
Once these fat cells are dead, your macrophages, a type of white blood cells, will take into action. They will locate those dead fat cells and remove them from your body, including other debris and deposits left by the procedure.
How Long Before You See Results?
In general, you’re most likely going to see results as soon as four months after your first session, and you can lose up to 15% to 28% of your overall body fat. But you’ll also notice some minor changes after three weeks.
Is Cryolipolysis for Everyone?
Before you consider doing this treatment, make sure that you are eligible first. Cryolipolysis is not intended for overweight or obese persons, and damaged or injured skin is also not eligible to undergo this process. You’re also not suitable for the treatment if you have a very low tolerance to cold temperatures.
In addition, fat freezing is not recommended for people with certain conditions like Raynaud’s phenomenon, cryoglobulinemia, paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria, cold urticaria, and cold agglutinin diseases.
Other limitations also include pregnancy, nerve disorders, and skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
So, if you’re perfectly healthy and do not have any of the conditions mentioned above, then you can safely try cryolipolysis.
In short, you don’t have to stress too much about those stubborn fats anymore because cryolipolysis is a safe and effective way of eliminating fats that you badly want to get rid of.
