Oregon is in the northwestern coastal state of the USA above California. This beautiful state had been on my Travel circuit for a long time. I primarily got to know about it while just browsing through other travel blogs. But you know when it is the right time, you find things magically work in your favor and you reach where you always wished to go.
This October I was in Oregon. The enchanting landscapes, carpeted with fiery red forests, walks, parks along the beautiful Cannon Beach and Mount Hood seem like a dreamscape.

Portland the largest city of Oregon state is a perfect amalgamation of a quaint little farm town with modern and cosmopolitan students flicking around in every corner of the city. To summarize, I would say that Oregon has it all and a trip here will impregnate you with admiration of natural wonders. It takes approximately 5 hours to go around the country so it won’t be difficult to finish your journey in a day or two.
Here I have tried my best to give y’all a glimpse of my experience in Oregon.
#1. Pendleton:

Pendleton is located in the Umatilla region in the northwestern part of Oregon. The city boasts of a typical cowboy, native Indian American vibe nestled in an almost dessert-like area bordered by the Blue Mountains shrouded in ghost grey mist and vampire white snow. The dry condition here is due to the extreme heat during summers and also harsh winters. But in spite of such harsh conditions, Pendleton thrives in agriculture and farming and is, in fact, one of the major sources of income there. The best experience is farmland based restaurants where you can enjoy the delicious local beer and other savory local dishes. You can hike up or cycle or even take a bike ride to the Blue Mountains and enjoy the spectacular scenery around.

#2. Columbia River:

West from Pendleton, you’ll find the striking jewel blue Columbia River splashing. This scenic river is famous for its astounding beauty and interesting fishes. You’ll find the best salmons and trout swimming here. Just sitting here and peacefully relaxing while watching the whales is an unbeatable experience along with the glorious sunset in the sea of liquidly gold and salmon pink clouds taking over. Around here you can visit the impressive Multnomah Falls swishing and be splashing as it flows through the rocks and The Hood River, and go feral with the wind in the windsurfing capital of the world.
#3. Portland, Oregon:
Following the route from Hood River, I landed up in Portland. November is the best time to visit Portland.

The crowd of bustling travelers mellows down because of the dipping temperature and the streets start getting dressed for Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. Portland is a big modern-day city and thrives with the best nightlife and pubs in the world. Remember to stop at Powell’s city of books and Voodoo donut shop in Portland. Powell’s bookshop is the largest bookshop in the world. Irrespective of the fact that you are a book lover or not spend some time here and grab a cup of Joe’s at the World Cup café on top. I got to know that many famous writers have been to this bookshop and even personally signed some. The next place, i.e. the Voodoo donut shop is undoubtedly the most famous place in all of Portland. You’ll see it for yourself when the queue outside the shop will have you exclaim a sigh. And go inside and the names of the donuts will astonish you!

Apart from this Portland is filled with some really beautiful parks but the best I think was the Washington Park. This sprawling park feels like a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city into the loving arms of nature. The Japanese Garden here is just stunning; the lovely greens cast an enchanting spell on its every single traveler. If you are going during the summer season do not forget the famous International rose garden also housed inside the Washington Park. Image Source: www.chaotime.com

#4. Douglas County:
Heading further south from Portland I landed up in Douglas County. The road from Portland to Douglas County is just stunning with dense pine foliage carpeting both sides of the road. It looked just breathtaking when I visited in fall, with oxidized ochre and ember red leaves burning slowly in abundance quilting a picturesque panorama all around that flicked like glitter as I swept past it.

It is the most beautiful place in all of Oregon. Roseburg, Canyonville are some of the quaint small towns in here. This is beautiful beyond your wildest dreams in the entire world. The gem blue Umpqua River swerves through it. The turquoise blue river wounds its merry way from the Umpqua national forest babbling and burbling on its way.
Oregon is a splendid experience I had. The absolutely gorgeous places and the remarkable culture want me to go back there again and again and explore some more of its trailing natural mystery and amazement. I hope you visit Oregon and have a wonderful time there.
