These days we don’t need to buy everything and our life has become so much easier while we have all learned to do DIY. DIYs are an exceptional way to make crafty and expert-style decor all by yourself. They make you feel so proud of being able to use your creativity and design something so unique and useful. With the advent of DIY every person has got a platform to express the artist within them and leave lasting marks on this world.
These are only a few of the reasons why I love DIYs, but check out this list of unique DIY ideas for this Christmas and holiday season. Welcome your guests into your beautifully decorated home with your unique and outlandish DIYs and bid adieu to the yesteryear decor styles.
- Tinsel garlands: An easy and effective way out to decorate your room for the Christmas and holiday season is to use Christmas tinsel garlands. Drape them around the windows the head of your bed or your bookshelves or even your mirror. You can add with it some lights to bring a magical touch to your decor.
- Use books to make a Christmas tree: Let’s be honest, ninety-nine out of a hundred times we choose a book by its cover. So go guilt-free this season and decorate your walls with these books. Use mount putty to tick them on your walls and stick them all in the shape of a Christmas tree.
- Instagram photos: I just love my Instagram photos. They reflect me and the photos I like to capture and share with my friends. Get the Instagram photos printed and stick them on a piece of paper, one on top of the other like a negative of a photo. Punch holes on the sides of the paper and you’re done. You can now stick these photos using mount putty on your walls and decorate it by hanging Santa hats on top. Another wonderful way would be to keep them hanging down from Christmas socks which you can hang on your walls.
- Christmas presents: Christmas presents not only bring joy in our lifelong lost and forgotten, but they also are great for wall hangings. I got this idea from a fellow DIYer. It’s super easy and amazing. Use old photo frames or unused cartons. Wrap it up with your favorite color papers and stick on it a bow. Drape it with a gift ribbon and use this piece as wonderful wallpaper.
- Ornaments: Use leftover Christmas ornaments to decorate your rooms. Make wall hangings from them by tying them to a strong ribbon, or use them to make some interesting wall hangings. You can use your leftover baubles to give a makeover to your photo frames, bookshelves, lampstands, and even the head of the bed.
- Christmas colors: Use colorful cushions, pillows, duvets, and mats for your room. Christmas colors like blue, red, white, and green are the perfect colors to use for bedsheets, linens, carpets, duvets, and pillowcases when its Christmastime. Use flannel curtains for a fresh look for the season.
- Christmas countdown: Use your old slate boards to write the days left for Christmas. You can decorate it with tinsel garlands, lights, and baubles.
So these were some creative and easy DIYs for room decor. DIYs are easy and much cheaper than any fancy things room the store. So decorate your room, taking inspiration from the clues above and celebrate the Christmas and holiday season.
