Easy romantic breakfast ideas ❤️
If I tell you my story on how it all started, one year back. I promise, you'll be amazed.
Sometime back, I met someone at a mutual friend's birthday party.
She and I connected really well. We talked about various things and almost everything under the sky. We came closer and bonded over silly and stupid things like early morning city walks after being awake the whole night. Silly innuendos like looking at the sunset while trying to play Mario on the laptop.
And before I knew it, it was already Valentine's Day.
As someone who plans or rather worries about things in advance - I had been meaning to bake something for her for Valentine's Day.
So, when she was not there, I would be practicing just to get it right on that day. 😀
I don't know if this sounds romantic or silly. But, yeah. That's how I chose to surprise my girlfriend for our first Valentine's Day ❤️
So, with those practices came out this heart shaped pancake recipe which I mastered and finally nailed it.
Skip to one year from that day, here I'm sharing my masterpiece with y'all.

Heart Pancakes Recipe for Valentines Day
Make these light, easy, fluffy heart shaped pancakes for Valentines Day without using a heart shaped cookie cutter.
- non-stick pan or griddle
- 2 cups pancake mix (I prefer Krusteaz buttermilk pancake mix or bisquick)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- ½ cup milk
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup butter (divided)
OPTIONAL for Serving
- fresh berries, maple syrup, honey, frozen yogurt
Whisk pancake mix, buttermilk, milk, egg, and butter (slightly cooled and melted) in a large bowl.
Whisk together just until smooth. The batter will be lumpy with thick and creamy consistency. If you find the batter to be too thick - meaning - it doesn't pour off the ladle or measuring cup smoothly - pour a couple of tablespoons of extra milk into the batter until it reaches your desired consistency.
Set aside the batter and allow it to rest for about 5-minutes. Meanwhile preheat the griddle or non-stick pan over medium heat.
Transfer ¼ of the batter to a squeeze bottle and keep the remaining in the bowl. Snip the opening of the squeeze bottle.
Once the pan or griddle is hot, lower the heat down to low-medium heat and wait for about 2-minutes.
Lightly grease the pan with a small amount of butter. Wipe off any excess butter using a paper towel.
Use the squeeze bottle to trace out a heart shape.
Use a ladle or measuring cup to pour remaining batter in the center of the heart shape.
Smoothen it out using a rubber spatula.
Wait until you see bubbles forming on the top and around the surface of the pancake. (batter side)
Flip lightly using a plastic or rubber spatula.
Repeat with the remaining. Serve with ice cream or frozen yogurt, maple syrup, honey, fresh berries, fruits.
