How do you make homemade popsicles that aren't icy?
Icy Popsicles is the last thing that you want especially after a hearty summer dinner. And, moreover, it's not safe when you feed icy popsicles to kids and especially toddlers.
They can break their teeth and that's the last thing which we want.
Even as us adults, some of us, including me hate popsicles which are icy and hard.
But, what I do, to prevent that is - use a couple of teaspoons of cornstarch.
I know what you're thinking. Cornstarch in a popsicle? Isn't that totally weird?
Well, trust me, it won't be icy hard and it'll be creamier and softer in texture.
What are fruit popsicles made of?
As the name suggests there isn't any secret ingredient that goes into the making of a fruit popsicle.
Basically, it's all the same kinds of fruits which we regularly use for most of our summer desserts. Think about blueberries, strawberries, kiwis, watermelons, pineapples, and more.
How do you make fruit popsicles softer?
To make a fruit popsicle softer which is kid-friendly and something which even toddlers can enjoy, you got to make sure that you've got enough fruit juice.
Fruit juice is the primary ingredient for a popsicle. And, a popsicle will become soft only when there is an adequate quantity of fruit juice in it.
How do you make popsicles not freeze so hard?
None of like a Popsicle which tastes icy. We look for a creamy texture which is smooth and velvety when we put it in our mouth. At least, that's what our brains expect when it looks at a Popsicle and when we put it in our mouth.
But, more often than not, we end up somehow making the popsicles which have that icy hard texture. And, we blame ourselves for freezing it for more time than it should've been.
But, that's not the issue. The REAL issue is - we didn't put cornstarch while blending Heavy Cream.
Cornstarch is a "secret-ingredient" that keeps your popsicles from becoming Icy hard.
