Step by Step Kadai Chicken Recipe

Kadai Chicken or Chicken Karahi Ingredients:
1st Step - Collect the essentials
- 1 Lb or ½ Kg Chicken (boneless or with bone)
- 3.4 cup capsicum or bell peppers
- ½ cup onions (you have cut them in cubes and then separate the layers)
- ¾ cup of tomatoes (pureed)
- Oil as per requirement
- 1 red chili
- ½ cup chopped onions
- 2 tsp fresh ginger garlic paste
- salt as per taste
- 10 cashew nuts or 3 tbsp cream
- 1tsp Kasuri Methi or dried Fenugreek leaves
2nd Step - Ingredients for Kadai Masala
- 4 red chilies
- 1 to 2 tsp Garam Masala
- 1 ½ tbsp coriander seeds
- Cumin Seeds (optional)
- Carom Seeds (optional)
Authentic Kadai Chicken Recipe Step by Step:
- First you'll have to dry roast the Kadai Masala.
- Then cool it and sprinkle Garam Masala over it.
- Chop tomatoes and blend it into a puree
- Soak cashew nut in warm water for 10 minutes and make a paste of it.
- Heat oil in a wok.
- Fry diced capsicum and onions for 2 minutes and then keep it aside.
- Now add broken red chili
- after it turns fragrant, add onions and fry till golden brown
- Next add your ginger garlic paste
- Now add the Chicken and fry for 3 to 4 minutes
- Now cover cook for 5 minutes
- Now remove the cover, sprinkle in the Kadai Masala and Red Chili Powder
- Pour in the tomato puree and Cashew Nut paste
- Add salt as per taste
- Cover cook for 30 minutes
- You can use cream now for garnishing.
- Sprinkle Coriander leaves and ginger juliens.
