So, apart from the basic ingredients like AP Flour, butter, sugar, vanilla, the special ingredient used to make a Red Velvet Brownie with Cream Cheese is - White Vinegar, Red Food Color (Of course), and Unsweetened Cocoa Powder.

What is red velvet brownies made of?
Here are the list of ingredients you need to make red velvet cheesecake brownie.
- Unsalted Softened butter - the much needed fat that makes the brownie fudgy.
- Granulated Sugar - Of course for that sweetness in your red velvet brownie.
- Vanilla - Just a hint of it to make everything better.
- Cocoa Powder - The chocolat-y ingredient that is a must for everything Red Velvet.
- Red Food Coloring - Always go with a gel red food coloring.
- Salt - Just to enhance the sweet flavor of the brownie.
- White Vinegar - So that it enhances the red color of the brownies.
- All Purpose flour - to provide density and fudginess to the brownies.
- Eggs - To bind the brownie batter and to create a smooth velvety batter.
- Cream Cheese - Softened at room temperature to make the cheesecake filling.
- Sugar, Vanilla, Egg Yolk - Combine all these three ingredients with cream cheese to make the cream cheese filling.

Well getting a betty Crocker Cheesecake mix would be much easier but trust me this is a lot easier than that. I get it you are thinking about the ingredients needed and everything science in baking.
But, trust me, baking a Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownie from scratch is much easier than you can imagine.
Step 1: First make The Red Velvet Brownie Batter
It doesn't get any easier than this. First combine the ingredients to make the brownie batter. It's the basic combination of softened butter, granulated sugar, vanilla, cocoa powder, red food coloring, and salt. Now, don't miss the white vinegar.

Whisk in Eggs (at room temperature) and combine it with the brownie batter.
Fold in flour, and pour the brownie batter in the prepared 8x8 inch greased baking pan.
Keep some aside about ¼ cup of batter.
Step 2: Make The Cheesecake Filling
To make the Cheesecake filling combine softened cream cheese with sugar, vanilla, and one large egg yolk. Whisk until it's soft and fluffy.
Spread the cheesecake filling over the brownie batter using a rubber spatula.
Step 3: Make the Swirls

Use a toothpick to make swirls on the cheesecake.
Step 4: Bake at 350°F for 30-minutes
Bake your Red Velvet Cheesecake brownies at 350°F for 30-minutes. Allow it to cool down completely at room temperature. Once it has cooled down completely, take it out of the pan using the hanging ends of the parchment paper.
Now remove the parchment paper from the sides. Use a sharp knife to cut out the slices for the brownies.

Red velvet cheesecake brownies recipe
Ingredients
For the Red velvet brownies
- 8 Tbsp unsalted butter melted, softened to room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp red food coloring
- ⅛ tsp salt
- ½ tsp white vinegar
- 2 large eggs at room temperature
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
For the Cheesecake filling
- 1 8 oz packaged cream cheese softened to room temperature
- ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk at room temperature
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350ºF and Line a 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and grease it with butter.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the 8 tablespoons of melted butter with the sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, pure vanilla extract, red food coloring and salt. Stir well to combine. Then stir in the white vinegar.
- In a small bowl, Whisk together the eggs and then stir them into the brownie batter.
- Fold in the all-purpose flour, just until combined. Now, pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, keep aside at least ¼ cup of the batter for the topping to make the beautiful swirls on the brownies.
- In an another medium-sized mixing bowl combine softened cream cheese, vanilla, sugar, and egg yolk using a hand held mixer or a stand mixer until it looks light and fluffy.
- Spread the cheesecake filling over the brownie batter in the pan using a rubber spatula.
- Now add dollops of remaining red velvet brownie batter over the cheesecake filling.
- Use a toothpick to make beautiful swirls over the red velvet cheesecake brownies.
- Bake the brownies for 30-minutes. Remove from oven and allow it to cool down completely at room temperature.
- Once it completely cooled, remove the parchment paper out of the baking pan and slice the brownies. Always use a plastic knife to slice the brownies.
- Serve them right away.
