The Himalayan Trip is a wonderful way to explore the beauty of the Himalayas Mountain range. The Leh Ladakh Bike trip is one of the most popular road trips that everyone should try it at least once. A daunting journey of adrenaline rush into spectacular passes and ranges on the wild Himalayan Roads; a Himalayan trip on a Car or a Himalayan Bike trip is sure to bring out a different self of yours you’ve had never seen before.
In August of 2016, I had the opportunity to go for a Himalayan bike ride on my Royal Enfield - Which really worked liked its tagline - "Built like a Gun" on the mighty Himalayan Roads 🙂 It took nearly 12 days to complete the journey, to and fro from Delhi. I had taken the Delhi to Leh route and back. There are many other routes as well.

The Himalayas are just jaw-droppingly beautiful. You can spend the night in piercing cold weather, in a tent camp with snow dripping overhead nevertheless, as you wake up you'll be surprised by a wonderful view of the Sun smiling through the snow-capped mountains, with the most beautiful scenery around you and the dead silence of the Himalayas. Trek the Himalayas to see the grandeur of these Majestic Snow Covered ranges. It really tears up your eyes, seeing your insignificance in the grandeur & beauty of nature. There are many such small villages throughout the Himalayan mountain range that really just makes you want to leave every obligation and spend life here. Its the serenity and simplicity of these hills that makes many people leave every worldly distraction, worries, technology, and simply spend a week here to tap into a place within themselves that is still unknown to them!

What are the Routes you can take to reach the Himalayas?
There are a number of routes you can take when you are doing a road trip in India across the Himalayas.
Route 1:
- The most popular one is to travel on the Leh to Manali road as when you ascend down the altitude, the ride becomes considerably easier.
- You can reach Leh, the capital city of Ladakh via a flight from Delhi.
- And then after taking a day off to adjust to the high altitude you can start your road trip down to Manali or to Srinagar.
Route 2:
- The ultimate Himalayan roads trip would be to drive from Delhi till Leh via Srinagar and come back via Manali, to Delhi.
- Both the roads provide some splendid landscapes and natural beauty to enrapture your heart.
- Today I'll guide you through the Delhi to Leh and back to Delhi via Manali road trip, that is probably the best route to get across the Himalayas.
Back in 2016 I and my group of friends did a Himalayan bike Trip. We followed this Delhi to Leh route. You can also drive the way. A Himalayan trip is just awe-inspiring.
The Delhi-Srinagar-Kargil-Leh-Sarchu-Manali-Delhi:
- This route should be preferred by you for an easy and considerably quicker to and fro trip across the Himalayas.
- You can start from Delhi on either a bike or a sports car that are well driven. It is definitely preferable to get an experienced driver for the trip as the roads narrow down as you near Leh, making it really difficult for a novice to drive.
- A drive from Delhi shall help you get acclimatized to the rising altitude and avoid altitude sickness. This route from Delhi to Leh is one of the most beautiful roads in the world.
- Ribboned around dry mountain ranges of Himalayas and Karakoram, this route gives you a glimpse of the wondrous transition of colors and cultures as you cross Kashmir to reach Leh and then again cross the picture-perfect town of Manali while your descend.
- This Himalayan trip is going to take around 10-12 days including your breaks.

The Himalayas Mountains is the most audacious and daring range of snow-capped mountains that run from Kashmir in northwestern India to Bhutan in northeastern India. The Himalayas is God’s abode. As per the Himalayas history, we in India, believe that Lord Shiva meditates in the snow-capped mountains of the Himalayas. In the Himalayas History mentioned in our scriptures like Vedas and Puranas about his abode on the Himalayas Mountains.
Who lives in the Himalayas?
The Himalayas in India is spread across the states of Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, and Kashmir, to the North of India and 3 states in the North Eastern and Eastern Parts of India, which are Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and parts of West Bengal. So, people in the states live amidst the Himalayan Mountains. When you visit the Himalayas, you'll see many "Naga Babas" (naked gurus). These are saints who devote their life to meditation in quest of enlightenment. They tolerate the piercing cold in the mountains while being naked and meditate. The Himalayas they say its an attempt to let go of all worldly needs and wants, desires, and lust to devote one's life to understand the existence of life. If you ever visit the Himalayas take some time to stop by and talk to them. It'll surely be impactful.

Apart from the spiritual interest, Himalayas Mountains is also home to many other colorful traditions, practices and cultures. Trek the Himalayas and you'll see how the scenery and culture changes within a few kilometers. Like in Himachal, you'll find a different culture to that of Punjab and then Kashmir or in Ladakh. The Khardung La, the highest motorable road is the prime attraction of the Leh Ladakh Road trip in your Himalayan Road Trip Itinerary. There are many such unusual places across the Himalayas Mountains. That's the beauty of India which the Himalayas Mountains embody with its unseen mystical beauty.
