Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. So much planning goes into it as you and your partner want everything to be perfect, but this can also result in a lot of stress which can become overwhelming if you’re not careful. This is why it’s important to remember to take a step back in the run-up to your wedding and do things that are fun and will help you to relax. So, before you walk down the aisle, make sure you do these five things.
1. Photoshoot
You will have a lot of professional photos taken on your big day, but between saying your vows, greeting your guests, and partying at the reception, you might not enjoy this experience as much as you should. Before your wedding day, book in for a professional photoshoot either alone or with your partner. Bridal boudoir photography is a great way to boost your confidence and feel sexy, and it will make a great gift for your other half. You will have your hair and makeup done and get to feel like a superstar for the day.
2. Spa Weekend
As mentioned previously, wedding planning can be very stressful! So, if you are feeling the pressure, you should certainly take a trip to the spa pre-wedding. You might decide to do something like this for your bachelorette party, but it might be better to do this with either a couple of close friends, your partner, or go alone. If you can’t afford to get away for a whole weekend, then go for a day instead. It will help you to switch off and relax a little bit before the main event.
3. Have Fun with Your Friends
Yes, you will be having some friends at the bachelorette party, and while these are enjoyed by many, they are also traditions that are expected as part of the wedding festivities. Try to spend some time with your friends outside of this in the run-up to the wedding, as the closer it gets, the fewer chances you will have to do this. Even simple things like going out to dinner or having them over for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine will be worthwhile, and it’s a good way to catch up with them and talk about something other than the wedding.
4. Main-Pedi and Other Beauty Treatments
You want to look your best on your wedding day, and although you will have a makeup artist and hairstylist there, you will need to make time for any other beauty treatments you’d like before the big day. Book in advance so that you don’t get disappointed, and try to schedule these the week before your wedding if possible. Get your nails done, get a wax, a facial, whatever you want to help you feel more confident and beautiful on your big day.
5. Have Time to Yourself
Finally, make sure you have at least one night/day to yourself before your wedding. Switch off your phone if you have to, but spending time alone is a good way to touch base with you and unwind. You won’t know when you’ll get some time to yourself again once the wedding events begin, so take the opportunity before they start.
Make sure you try to do these things before your wedding to give you some time to have fun and relax without worrying about wedding planning or other related issues.
